The Kaz. Process

It has been just over a month now since our dossier arrived at the Kazakhstan Consulate in NY for review. We expect that it will be there until around the first week in August, assuming everything meets their requirements.

The steps after that will look something like this. It gets a little confusing, but I think this is right :).

Our dossier will travel from the Consulate in NY to the Foreign Ministry in Kazakhstan. After it is reviewed in the ministry, our adoption agency's associates or the Ministry will assign it to a region based upon the children available meeting our criteria range (age and health). The dossier is then sent to the regional Education Ministry, and processed for a Letter of Invitation to travel to Kazakhstan.

The total wait is about 5 months processing time from the Consulate through the Kaz Ministry (again, depending on the availability of children meeting our criteria). This is very good news and we hope that nothing major will happen in regards to a lengthening of that timeline!
